Sobre o Programa: O Programa de Mestrado em Ecologia e Ecologia (PPGECB) da Universidade Federal de Uberlândia (UFU) capacita pesquisadores e profissionais para enfrentar desafios ecológicos urgentes por meio de investigação científica rigorosa. Combinando abordagens teóricas e aplicadas, o programa prepara os alunos para carreiras acadêmicas, de conservação e de políticas ambientais.
Objetivos: Os principais objetivos do programa de mestrado do PPGECB são:
- Formar pesquisadores altamente pesquisadores em ecologia e conservação, capazes de conduzir pesquisas científicas independentes e inovadoras.
- Desenvolver pensamento crítico e habilidades metodológicas para analisar sistemas ecológicos e desafios de conservação da biodiversidade.
- Produzir conhecimento científico de alto impacto em áreas como ecologia de comunidades, ecologia populacional, ecologia comportamental, ecologia de paisagens e biologia da conservação.
- Estudar os biomas brasileiros , especificamente o Cerrado , uma das savanas mais biodiversas do mundo, e outros ecossistemas ameaçados.
- Aplicar teorias ecológicas aos problemas de conservação do mundo real , contribuindo para a gestão ambiental sustentável.
- Apoiar políticas públicas e processos de tomada de decisão relacionados à proteção da biodiversidade e restauração de ecossistemas.
- Promover uma pesquisa interdisciplinar , integrando ecologia com genética, biogeografia, climatologia e estudos socioambientais.
- Fortalecer parcerias nacionais e internacionais com universidades, centros de pesquisa, ONGs e agências governamentais.
- Preparar graduados para carreiras acadêmicas, consultoria ambiental, agências governamentais (por exemplo, ICMBio, IBAMA), ONGs e iniciativas de sustentabilidade do setor privado.
- Para incentivar a comunicação científica , garantindo que os resultados da pesquisa cheguem aos formuladores de políticas, educadores e ao público em geral.
- Promover práticas de pesquisa ética , incluindo o respeito à biodiversidade e às comunidades locais.
- Para enfrentar desafios socioambientais , como desmatamento, mudanças climáticas e extinção de espécies, por meio de soluções baseadas na ciência.

Curriculum Composition: The Master’s course is organized into a combination of coursework, research activities, and a dissertation. Students must meet both credit requirements and academic milestones.
