About the Program: The Postdoctoral Program in Ecology, Conservation, and Biodiversity at the Federal University of Uberlândia (UFU) is designed to foster high-level research, strengthen national research groups, and integrate postdoctoral researchers into ongoing projects within graduate programs across Brazil. It also aims to enhance doctoral graduates' expertise through teaching, research, and international collaboration opportunities.
Objectives:
- Promote Excellence in Research: Encouraging the pursuit of high-quality, advanced studies in ecology and related fields.
- Strengthen Research Groups: Reinforcing national research teams by integrating postdoctoral researchers into their projects.
- Foster Internationalization: Supporting postdoctoral researchers in undertaking research internships abroad, in line with CAPES International Relations guidelines.
(How to apply): Foreign candidates who want to apply to a postdoctoral program at PPGECB are expected to contact with potential supervisors, and members of the Program's Faculty.
- Personal documents: passport, RNE (national registry of foreigners), and CPF (individual taxpayer registration),
- Note: Postdoctoral candidates who do not expect funding from national agencies are not required to provide their CPF when applying,
- Updated CV (preferably on the Lattes Platform available at https://lattes.cnpq.br/),
- Research project and Work plan,
- Acceptance letter from a supervisor (who must be a permanent member at PPGECB),
- The Postdoctoral Proposal must be submitted by the supervisor through an online platform named Sistema Eletrônico de Informações (SEI). The PPGECB Board will assess the application considering both the requirements above and the applicant’s Postdoctoral Project adequacy to the Program’s focus area and the supervisor’s line of research and research project.
- Note: For enrollment, candidates must have a personal accident insurance covering their period of stay at the university.
How it is conducted: with or without scholarship): UFU provides postdoctoral scholarships through programs such as the National Postdoctoral Program (PNPD/CAPES). These scholarships are typically awarded via public selection processes announced through official calls for applications. Eligibility criteria, application procedures, and deadlines are specified in these calls.
Voluntary Participation: Researchers also have the option to participate in the postdoctoral program without a scholarship, engaging in research activities in collaboration with UFU faculty members. This voluntary participation allows for academic and scientific contributions without financial support from the university.
Further support is also provided by the Office of International Relations (http://www.dri.ufu.br).
Duration of the course:
